Future Thinking
I plan on using my blog to help me study and also to help me be recognized when i am applying for jobs. After high school I plan on going to the University of Winnipeg to obtain my Early Years Education degree. While studying there I will be continuing with my French studies so that i can teach in both French and English schools. My hope with this is that I can use my French language studies to help me obtain a job quicker. my dream place to work is out East in Prince Edward Island. Although it is a smaller province there is still a need for teachers. I would like to move out there because I am originally from Halifax and i used to spend my summers with my family in P.E.I. I hope that by continuing with this blog after high school i can use it to showcase my abilities as a student as well as a writer.
Reading Response #2
Book: Uglies
Author: Scott Westerfeld
Pages Read: 29-120
While reading on Friday i had many questions. Most of the questions I had have still not been answered. The first one was why does Shay say they 'were' friends. This question was answered later on in the book. Shay says this because she felt like her old friends abandoned her when they turned pretty. My next question is why does Shay always insult Tally. This question was one of the ones that was not answered. My next question was do the Uglies get to choose what they will look like after the surgery. The answer to this question is no. they Uglies have no say in what they look like after the surgery to turn pretty. The choice of what they look like after they turn pretty is entirely up to the doctors doing the surgery. Another question i had was why doesn't Shay what to turn pretty. All of the other uglies dream of turning pretty yet Shay seems to despise it. This question is still up in the air because I have yet to find the answer to it.
One question that i asked a lot was why is Shay so against turning pretty. The answer to this question is because turning pretty means growing up. An ugly turns pretty at the age of 16 at this time they start to be considered an adult within their society. Shay doesn't want to turn pretty because it means growing up. Growing up to shay means not being able to do all of the things she did as a ugly.
My last two questions go together. One question is what does the man mean there is a problem with her surgery. This question comes when Tally is on her way to get her surgery. Before they can start the operation a man comes and tells Tally that there is a problem that must be solved before she can have her surgery. The other question that goes with this is will Shay ever be found. the problem turns out to be that Shay ran away and they are trying to find her. The people ion charge of the surgeries are not allowing Tally to become pretty until she helps them find Shay.

Digital Footprint Sketch
Last week we were asked to create a sketch of our digital footprint.
Mine is very plain and small as i do not use the Internet for much. The apps listed on my footprint are You Tube, Instagram, Craftgawker, and 8tracks. The other main thing on my footprint would be my dance studio information. When you google my name the first thing to pop up is a link to my dance studios website and facebook page.

Book read: Uglies
Author: Scott Westerfeld
Pages read:1-28
Date read: February 8th, 2013
I am reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. While reading i had a couple of questions. The first one is What is the darkness? On the first page of the novel Tally, the main character, is talking about waiting ff\or the darkness. I have yet to find out what the darkness actually is but i came up with an idea of what it is. The darkness could be the surgery to turn pretty. My next question was What is a house minder? When i continued reading i was able to determine that a house minder is the electronic core of a house in Uglytown and Prettytown. My next question is How did Tally get the scar on her hand? Later in the book we find out that Tally and her best friend Peris cut their hands and exchanged blood to solidify their friendship. my last question was Will tally make it out of New Prettytown or will she get caught? this question is from when Tally pulls the fire alarm to escape the party. The answer to this question is yes she will make it out of New Prettytown without getting caught.
I only had three predictions from when i was reading. The first one was that something big was going to happen to Tally in 3 months and 2 days. This prediction was from the very first page. I later confirmed this prediction with a comment. The comment was that that Tally is going to turn pretty soon as she is almost 16. My second prediction is that when she is trying to find Peris she is going to get caught by one of the Pretties. This prediction turned out to be true .. Although with the confirmation of this prediction another prediction was formed. My last prediction was that the Pretty in the elevator is going to be Peris. This prediction also turned out to be true.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good book to read.
